We never knew how much research we would have to do when we adopted our puppy from the pound a few years back. I knew it was a lot of work to raise a dog because I had dogs growing up on the farm when I was a kid, but I never paid much attention to what my mom fed the dogs. I didn’t care because I was a kid. When we bought the dog from the adoption place, we decided to go right to the vets to get shots and a check up. The vet recommended a few brands, but my wife wasn’t happy with what he said. She said he wanted to sell us a certain type of dog food. We haven’t been back to that vet since that first visit. We have a friend of the family who is in vet school, so we asked him.
Our friend in vet school recommended Beneful. Beneful has real ingredients in it, and it says some pretty impressive stuff on the bag, so we tried it, and our dog has been eating Beneful ever since. We started with the Beneful Healthy Puppy Dry Dog Food because it made the most sense. It is specially designed for puppies growing bodies and their metabolism. Puppies need more nutrients in their diet because they are growing, and Beneful formula has that supply of nutrients. They also have a dog food for adults that we were already thinking about putting our dog on when she is old enough. We have our other dog on it, and she is an adopted dog, too. They both like the chicken flavor. Our other dog is on the Beneful Healthy Weight Dry Dog Food because we don’t want her to get overweight as she gets old.
Chopped Blends Wet Food
Beneful came out on Facebook with Chopped Blends Wet Food, and most dog owners heard their stomachs growl. If you look at the food, it looks just like some kind of vegetable and meat stew. I haven’t tried tasting it, but the dogs sure like it. They like the one with chicken, peas, carrots and wild rice the best. We have also tried the one with salmon, peas and wild rice. They’re happy that we think so much about them. I can see their tails wagging, and that makes me feel good about being a responsible pet owner.
